Somaiya Vidhyavihar Eligibility Criteria 2027

Nationality:

• All citizens of India, Residents of Maharashtra (domicile)- Gujarati Linguistic Minority and all other residents of Maharashtra can apply for admission.

For B.Tech Course:

• Qualification: One should have passed class 12th from any board to apply for admission.
• Subjects: In qualifying exam, candidates must have English, Physics, Mathematics as a mandatory subject along with one of the subjects from (Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject). 
• Marks: To apply for admission, candidates must score a minimum of 45% marks in above subjects taken together.
• Scores: Candidates will be selected for admission based on the merit of valid score of JE Main 2027/ MHT CET 2027/ PERA CET 2027/ CUET UG 2027/ SAT 2027/ SAT 2027.

B.Des (Product Design):

• Qualification: To apply, candidates must pass in class 12th with any stream to be eligible.
• Marks: In the qualifying exam, candidates must score 50% aggregate marks to apply for admission.
• Scores: One with a valid score in SVUET/ UCEED/ NID-DAT/ NIFT/ PERA-CET/ NATA/ JEE Main Paper2/ CUET/ MAH-Design CET 2027 Score + Team Activity & Personal Interview (Online).

For M.Tech Course:

• Eligibility: Applying candidates must have passed a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field of Engineering and Technology (B.E/ B.Tech) from any recognized institution.
• Marks: Candidates must score at least 50% marks (40% for PWD candidates) to apply.
• Selection: The selection of candidates will be done based on the valid scores of entrance exam – non-zero positive scores in GATE (2026, 2025, 2024) conducted by IIT OR obtained +ve score in appropriate PERA CET 2026 for M.Tech or CUET 2026.
• Appearing: Candidates appearing in final year will also be eligible to apply for admission.
• After M.Tech Semester II, candidates can opt for M.Tech + PhD (Dual Degree) course after clearing SVU-PET entrance exam or continue M.Tech Programme. 

SVUET 2027 Entrance Exam

Somaiya Vidyavihar University conducts its own entrance exam, SVUET (Somaiya Vidyavihar University Entrance Test), for admission to various UG programs. The SVUET scores are accepted for courses like B.Des, BBM, BBA, B.Sc Data Science, BCA, B.Sc IT, BA Liberal Arts, B.Sc Economics, BPA (Dance/Music/Singing), B.Sc Psychology, BA Yogashastra, and BA History & Archaeology.

The exam is conducted in an online internet-proctored mode, allowing students to appear from home. It is held in the English language with a total duration of 1 hour. The SVUET 2027 exam will be conducted in three sessions on 18th April, 3rd & 16th May, and 6th June 2027.
