National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur (previously known as Regional Engineering College) is just a Deemed University and is situated in Durgapur, West Bengal. It is a fully-funded by premier Technological Institution of the Government of India and is administered by a self-governing Board of Governors. NIT Durgapur is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

National Institute of Technology (NIT), Durgapur founded in 1960 and it offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level courses in Engineering, Science, Business Management, Social Work, and Computer Applications. Admission to all the courses will be done on the basis of merit scored in national levels entrance examinations for instance in the JEE Main, GATE, CAT and so many others. NIT Durgapur Admission 2024 Application Form will be Released soon. Candidates must register through online by following the given steps:

For B. Tech Program:

The candidates will be able to apply directly through the official website of JoSAA.

For M. Tech, M. Sc and Ph.D. Programs:

• The Application Form will be released on the official website.
• The candidates must submit the duly filled application forms and a Demand Draft of INR 500 (INR 250 for SC, ST & PWD job applicants).
• The application charge for the Ph.D. program is INR 1500 (INR 100 for SC, ST & PWD candidates).
• DD needs to be drawn in favor of “NIT Durgapur” which must be paid at Durgapur.

NIT, Durgapur Reservation Criteria: Physically handicapped, Ex-Servicemen, Sportspersons, and other eligible candidates have the right to the reservation under the rules adopted by the Government of India.

NIT, Durgapur Scholarship: The candidates are eligible to receive scholarships for all the programs on the basis of their scores in the corresponding qualifying examinations. The scholarship of INR 8000 on a monthly basis regarded selected full-time GATE qualified candidates opting for the M.Tech program.

NIT Durgapur 2024 Admissions Process:

B.Tech admissions are based on the merit list of JEE Main that is followed by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling for admission in the B.Tech program.

The applicants should have scored 75% marks or a position in the top 20 percentile in 10+2 from an accredited board for M.Tech admission, 55% of marks are necessary for the B.E/B.Tch degree.

Action in the case of the M. Tech course, the admission will be done based on the GATE score.
