JEE Main exam pattern has been announced, and according to the NTA, Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be conducted in 2 shifts per day. According to the latest notification released by NTA, Paper one are going to be computer based test (CBT) and Paper two are going to be partially CBT based (Mathematics and aptitude Test) and partly Pen Paper based (Drawing Section).

It’s very important for the students to make sure that they’re aware of the latest JEE Main exam pattern that is declared by NTA. JEE Main Exam Pattern can help the JEE Main Aspirants to understand the whole weighted of the questions.

JEE Main 2025 Exam Pattern:

This will offer one more opportunity to the students to improve their scores within the examination if they fail to give their best within the 1st attempt without wasting their whole year.
In the 1st attempt, the students can get a first-hand experience of taking an examination and to understand their mistakes that they will improve while attempting for the second time.

Mode of Examination:

JEE (Main)-2025 are going to be conducted within the following mode:
Paper-1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode solely.
Paper-2 (B. Arch/ B. Planning): Mathematics- part I and aptitude test-Part II in “Computer based test (CBT)” mode solely and Drawing Test -Part III in “Pen & Paper Based” (offline) mode to be attempted on the drawing sheet.

JEE Main 2025 (B.E/ B. Tech) Exam Pattern:

  • Examination Mode: The exam will be conduct through online CBT mode.
  • Subjects: JEE Main will include queries from Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics subjects.
  • Type of Questions: There will be Objective type -MCQ will be asked.
  • Number of Questions: 30 queries will be there in each PCM section. 20 questions will be of multiple choice type & 10 questions answers to be filled as numerical value. Total questions will be 90 in the paper.
  • Exam Duration: The exam duration will be 3 hours. 4 hours for candidates having 40% disability.
  • Language of Question Paper: The question paper medium is in English, Hindi, Tamil, Urdu, Odia, Assamese, Punjabi, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati, Bengali for all centre cities. Students have to make option of language medium at the time of application process. No changes can be done later.
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct question will carry 4 marks.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. There will be no negative marking for numerical value answer type of questions.

JEE Main 2025 B. Arch Exam Pattern:

  • Examination Mode: The mode of examination for B. Arch is online only. The drawing test of Paper 2 will be conducted through offline mode on a sheet of A4 size.
  • Subjects: The JEE Main will comprises of three parts which are mathematics, aptitude test and drawing test.
  • Type of Queries: Objective type -Multiple Choice questions will be asked for Part-I and Part-II.
  • Number of Queries: 25 questions will be there in mathematics section; 50 questions in Aptitude test; 2 questions in drawing test. In mathematics, 20 questions will be of multiple choice type & 5 questions answers to be filled as numerical value. There will be total of 75 questions in the paper.
  • Exam Duration: The duration of the exam will be 3 hours. 4 hours for candidates having 40% disability.
  • Language of Question Paper: Question paper medium is English and Hindi. Students filling the exam centres in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Havel cities have the option to opt the question paper in English, Hindi and Gujarati medium.
  • Marking System: Each question will carry 4 marks for the correct response.
  • Negative Marking: For each incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted from the total score. There will be no negative marking for numerical value answer type of questions.

JEE Main Paper 2025 (B. Plan) Exam Pattern:

  • Courses: The paper of B. Plan of JEE Main 2025 will be conducted for admission to undergraduate planning courses.
  • Examination Mode: The mode of exam of the paper is CBT mode only.
  • Subjects: The Paper comprises of three parts – Mathematics, Aptitude test and planning based objective type MCQs.
  • Type of Queries: Multiple Choice questions will be asked in the paper.
  • Number of Queries: 25 questions will be there in mathematics section; 50 questions in Aptitude test; 25 questions in planning based objective questions. In mathematics, 20 questions will be of multiple choice type & 5 questions answers to be filled as numerical value. There will be total of 100 questions in the paper.
  • Exam Duration: The duration of the exam will be 3 hours. 4 hours for candidates having 40% disability.
  • Language of Question Paper: Question paper medium is English and Hindi. Students filling the exam centres in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Havel cities have the option to opt the question paper in English, Hindi and Gujarati medium.
  • Marking System: Each objective type question will carry 4 marks for the correct response.
  • Negative Marking: For each incorrect response 1 mark will be deducted from the total score. There will be no negative marking for numerical value answer type of questions.
