Earlier, the college was functioning under the mentorship of NIT Durgapur. The institute will be temporarily functioning at Yupia, standing campus is under-construction, surrounded by greenery.
It provides Engineering, Managing, and Science programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate degree levels such as B.Tech, M.Tech, as well as MS. The Institute also provides a B.Tech degree at the UG level, M.Tech and MS degree at the PG level. For M.Tech and MS Courses:
- Application can be download from the official website.
- Enclose the non-refundable demand draft of INR 500 (INR 150 in the event of SC/ST/Women candidates) in favour of “Director NIT Arunachal Pradesh” payable at SBI, Nurjuli or can be transferred NEFT to A/C No. 32043127339.
Send out the hard copy of the application from the necessary documents through speed post to:

- Photo ID proof as per Govt. of India norms.
- Birth certificate issued by competent authority/Class X (High School) Board Certificate as proof of date of birth.
- Mark sheet of Class XII.
- Grade/Mark sheets of qualifying examination for all semesters.
- Provisional Certificate, if the degree is completed.
- Category Certificate, if applicable.
- Migration Certificate from Institution/ University last attended.
- Conduct and Transfer Certificate from Head of the Institution last attended.

Admission to all the courses offered by NIT Arunachal Pradesh will be based upon various entrance tests at the national level.
