Thapar University Counselling 2026

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) offers admission to B.Tech programmes based on the merit of JEE Main, 10+2 (or equivalent), or the TIET entrance test. The counselling process for 2026 will be conducted in both online and offline (in-person) modes and will begin after the merit list is released.

The B.E./B.Tech counselling schedule will be available on the website once the results of JEE Main 2026 or 10+2 exams are declared. During the online counselling rounds, branch allocation will depend on merit, category-wise seat availability, and the preferences submitted in the application form.

On Roll Candidates (ORC) are those who have paid the full fee and retained their seats, while Candidates Not On Roll (CNOR) are those who have withdrawn after fee payment. In further counselling rounds (2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.), seat allotment will consider ORC candidates and those not yet allotted seats, strictly based on merit.

The final branch/discipline allotment depends on seat availability, candidate preferences, and merit rank. Candidates who confirm admission by paying the full fee must complete the ‘Fee Confirmation Slip (FCS)’ on the official website within the given deadline.

The admission offered will be provisional. The list of documents required during in-person counselling is provided below:

  • Filled application form
  • 10+2 or equivalent certificates
  • Matriculation/Higher Secondary certificate
  • Result card and admit card of JEE Main (if applicable)
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • Character certificate
