The institute has been categorised as the “Institutes of National Importance” and funded by the Government of India.

NIT Meghalaya provides admission to UG, PG and Doctoral courses, such as BTech, MTech, MSc and PhD. NIT Meghalaya admission to all courses is entrance-based. Willing candidates must qualify for various national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, GATE and IIT JAM, followed by JoSAA, CCMT and CCMN counselling for respective courses. NIT Meghalaya Admission 2024 Application Form will be Released soon. Candidates submit an application for UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses required to submit application forms through online mode. Furthermore, the candidate must fill the application form for the entrance exams like JEE Main or GATE to show up in entrance examinations.

Steps to Apply are as follows:

• Visit the official website of the institute and click the link for the required courses or go for the direct link provided above in this article.
• Do the payment of application fees first and then move on to fill the application form.
• Payment can be made on the basis of two methods – Using HDFC & Online SBI Collect.
• For payment fees through the Online SBI Collect method, go to the SBI site.
• Click on ‘Make Payment when you use the SB Collect’.
• Check the terms and condition box n proceed.
• Choose all the options you want from drop-down menu boxes and click ‘Submit’.
• Select Application Fees the option on the payment page and then click on confirm.
• Pay the fees by selecting the current mode of payment.
• In the application form, fill the identification number and payment date where asked.
• Fill the application form the right way and shall submit it.
• Application Fees: INR 500 (General/OBC) and INR 250 (SC/ST)

NIT Meghalaya 2024 Eligibility Criteria:

Below we have provided the NIT Meghalaya Admission 2024 Eligibility Criteria for the candidates to check before applying:

• The institute provides Ph.D. in eight specialties. Candidates must pass a Master’s degree in Engineering/Science/Technology/Management Science/Arts with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. Nominees with B.E./B.Tech with minimum 75% marks and the current GATE score are also eligible to apply. For a Ph.D. in Humanities & Social Sciences, a minimum of 55% marks in Master’s degree are required for admission.
• NIT, Meghalaya provides M.Tech and M.Sc. at the PG level. The institute also provides M.Tech (Part-Time) for applicants. M.Tech program provides specialization in four currents and M.Sc. in three specializations.
• The minimum eligibility to apply for the M.Tech program is B.Tech/B.E. with a minimum of 6.5 CPGA out of 10. Admission to the M.Tech program is based on the GATE exam and also through counseling performed by Centralized Counselling for M.TECH / M.ARCH / M.PLAN (CCMT).
• For M.Tech (Part-Time), the selection is conducted on the basis of written tests performed by the institute, academic scores, in force GATE scores, and length of service scores.
• To qualify for the M.Tech program (Part-Time) the candidate needs a minimum of two-year professional experience in the following sub-categories – Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Power and Energy Systems, Fluids and Thermal Engineering.
• For Admission in the M.Sc course, the candidate must go through a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% sign or 6.5 CGPA for General and 55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/OBC. Admission to M.Sc. takes place on the basis of a written examination conducted by the institute.
• Things to be kept in mind while appearing for the GATE exam –
• GATE is an online test with MCQs and Numerical type questions.
• The examination is conducted for candidates on the basis of 23 disciplines of Engineering.
