It is a Deemed University which was founded on August 15, 1960, under the patronage of the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. The university is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, (AICTE). NIT Jamshedpur has 12 departments, with 7 Undergraduate (UG), 23 postgraduate (PG) and PhD Programmes.

The university provides various quality centralized UG, PG, and Ph.D. level courses in various fields of engineering, science, computer applications, business administrations. For JEE / GATE / JAM

• A notification will be released by the IIT which performs examination for the year, following which the application forms will be formally released.
• The link will be provided from the official JEE Main/ GATE – JAM website or go for the direct link provided above in this article.
• Candidates must submit the duly filled in form, along with uploaded photographs and photocopies of marks cards, within the given time period.
• Internet payment of the application fee, generally between Rs. 100/- and Rs. 500/-, can be made through Net Banking.

For NIMCET

• A notification will be released by the NITs regarding the process.
• Candidates have to log on to the official NIMCET website and sign up for themselves by creating a login and password as directed.
• Fill in all details in the application form, and to upload copies of all required documents before they are submitted.
• The application fee (non-repayable) of Rs. 2000/- (Rs. 1000/- for reserved categories) must be paid via Online Banking.
• The final submitted form and copy of the e-receipt generated must be printed and submitted to the Institute according to the request.

For Ph.D.

• Register as a new candidate and then login with the user name and password.
• Fill the form online with caution and pay the application fees online through the SBI i-collect.
• Registration Fees: INR 1000 (for Open/OBC Candidates) as well as by INR 500 (for SC/ST candidates)

For B.Tech

NIT Jamshedpur consist of four years B. Tech program in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, and Production Engineering. Entrance to B.Tech draws on JEE Main scores.

For PG Courses

NIT Jamshedpur provides two years M.Tech 16 specialist qualification under various departments, 2-year M.Sc. in 3 specializations, and three years M.C.A. Program in multiple streams.

The choice is done through entrance exams which included below:

• M.Tech Programs, a candidate must appear in the GATE entrance exam.
• M.Sc. Admission is being done through IIT JAM.
